I grew up confused about math and afraid to ask for help. Thankfully, there were educators who helped me see that math wasn’t just about computing and following algorithms — it was about finding patterns, making sense, and discovering. That experience fuels my deep passion for supporting learners, because I don’t want them to struggle the way I did.

My commitment to families deepened when I became a parent myself. Watching my children grow, make connections, and see their learning reflected in the world around them has been inspiring. It’s reminded me how powerful it is when children are supported not just in school, but by the community of people who believe in them.

I have always worked with individual students and groups outside of school, staying connected to learners of different ages in environments where they often feel freer to take risks, stretch themselves, and explore math in meaningful ways. I believe the foundation of meaningful learning is trust: when students and families feel supported, respected, and heard, they are better able to take risks, explore, and grow. I work to establish strong partnerships with each student and their family, knowing that collaboration is the key to success.

Before becoming a consultant and coach, I was an elementary classroom teacher for over 10 years, teaching grades 1–6. That experience grounds all of my work and keeps me connected to what students and families need most. Since then, I’ve coached hundreds of teachers and facilitated professional learning at district and school levels, supporting teachers and leaders in developing strong, student-centered math practices.

At the same time, I deeply value working directly with students — whether one-on-one or in small groups — to meet their unique needs, build confidence, and make math meaningful and engaging. In addition to tutoring, I consult and coach through Metamorphosis Teaching Learning Communities, where you can read more about my professional background. You can also follow me on LinkedIn to stay connected.
